13.30 - 16.30 Seminar: You’re My InspirationIn this seminar, with the help of a diverse collection of creators from different areas of production, we will dive deeper into discussions about motivation, aspiration, and influence.We will among other things get to meet the 20-year-old director Luàna Bajrami (Kosovo / France) whose debut feature The Hill Where Lionesses Roar premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2021 and is now screening at the Stockholm International Film Festival.
The audience will also join Swedish writer and director Jenifer Malmqvist in a conversation about moving freely between fiction and documentary, allowing artistic processes to take time, and daring to approach even the most difficult topics in one’s storytelling. Research fellow and lecturer at the Department of Media Studies, Stockholm University, Nadi Tofighian, will do a historical odyssey over intertextual examples where filmmakers use other films and works of art as a source of inspiration for specific film scenes and shots. We will get to meet the film's creative team behind the comedy-drama Hypnosen, Ernst De Geer (direction and script), Mads Stegger (script) and Mimmi Spång (producer).
Finally, we will do a status update on current Moving Sweden projects and recent years Wild Card winners, before announcing this year’s Wild Card winners who all will receive SEK 400,000 for developing their first or second feature.Special guests during the day are students and teachers from some of the prestigious film schools of Sweden.
The audience will also receive several digital greetings from Swedish film workers working in all parts of the industry, on the topic of what has inspired them.
The seminar is a collaboration between Stockholm International Film Festival, The Swedish Film Institute and SVT.
